Us TOO of Southern New Mexico
and Us TOO International
Programs & Services
Just as pink is to breast cancer, blue is to prostate cancer. Us TOO wants to increase prostate cancer awareness and for people to see more blue, or SEA Blue, with SEA standing for support, educate and advocate – the primary components of Us TOO’s mission.
Local Support Group: The local chapter, Us TOO of Southern New Mexico, is located in Las Cruces and has regular meetings (please note: member meetings temporarily suspended as of March 2016) in the meeting rooms in the southwest corner of the Memorial Medical Center on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. These meetings provide an opportunity for men recently diagnosed with prostate cancer to talk with other men about their personal treatment experiences and to hear from guest speakers with expertise in treating cancer using standard accepted treatments or providing significant information on various integrated medical practices.
These meetings are open to anyone: friends, families, and people, male or female, who have been diagnosed with other types of cancer. Much of the information available can be applied to the treatment of other cancers, not just prostate cancer.
We also work closely with our Albuquerque chapter of UsToo, chaired by Lou Reimer, that publishes a quarterly newsletter called Lifeline and contains very useful articles and information pertaining to prostate cancer.
